“We do one thing or another; we stay the same, or we change. Congratulations, if you have changed.” – Mary Oliver

You’re searching for a therapist because you want something to change. Whether you’re struggling with relationships, stress and anxiety, perfectionism, or general changes in your life, I’m interested in hearing your story. In therapy, we’ll explore the different relationships and contexts that have shaped and continue to shape you, and talk about how you can shape your future. I’m intentional about creating a therapeutic space where you feel comfortable to share, be vulnerable, question, and discover.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming and intimidating. As a former high school math teacher, I am used to creating a sense of safety and comfort in what can be a stressful environment! There is no “right” way to start this process. All you need to do is show up as you are.

My approach to therapy

I work with teens (13+), adults, romantic relationships, and other significant relationships (mother-daughter, siblings, etc.) in person and virtually. My approach is warm, transparent, and collaborative. I bring a lens to the therapy room that is rooted in systems-level thinking and narrative theory. Together, we will look for patterns and stories that continually pop up. Where can we shift, adapt, or let go?

In working with relationships, I strive to make sure each person feels heard and understood. My focus is on helping each person foster a sense of autonomy and self-empowerment in addition to a deep connection to one another. The balance of tending to both the individual and the relationship allows for a mutual strengthening and deepening.
