ABE GUEVARA, LMFTA (he/his)
Starting therapy can feel like stepping into the unknown— and if you’re reading this, I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to even consider that step. I hold a deep belief that every person is inherently worthy of healing and meaningful change. I am here to provide a nonjudgmental, safe, and welcoming space, where you are free to show up as you are. A key part of therapy, as I see it, is the process of understanding what it means to be authentic— the part of you that may have been buried under fear, expectations, or roles. I’ll support you in practicing how to align with your values and your voice, while uncovering answers that already lie within you. I recognize that I am not the expert of your life, but rather a guide that can walk alongside you as you uncover your own truths.
My approach to therapy
I work in person and virtually with teens, adults, and couples. My approach is collaborative and flexible, grounded in the belief that there is no “one right way” to grow. I strive to show up with curiosity and a genuine human presence— sometimes with depth, sometimes with humor, always with care. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including narrative therapy, nonviolent communication (NVC), emotion focused (EFT) therapy, as well as a systemic and holistic approach towards your care.
I hope to co-create a space that feels comfortable and personalized to you and your needs. It would be an absolute privilege to be able to work together to set goals, journey towards self-discovery, and stay open to any and all thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and experiences that we encounter along the way.
