Hayden Comphel, LICSWA (he/him)

You might be feeling lonely, sad, and frustrated. You may also have experiences of trauma, conflict, or a feeling of not quite fitting in with your peers. In therapy, we will uncover the blocks that keep you feeling stuck in unresolved grief, disconnected relationships, depression, and anxiety, so that you can live a more enriching life. We will co-create a space where it is safer to share your rich inner world. I come from the understanding that you innately carry the resources to thrive. Together, we can embark on a continued journey, learning about the complexity of who you are and ways you can heal to connect with your core self.

My approach to therapy

I work individually with adolescents and adults via telehealth. As a therapist who identifies as a queer, trans masculine person, I have a particular passion for working with clients who are interested in exploring their queer and trans* identities. I am rooted in trauma-responsive, anti-oppressive, and person-centered care. In alignment with my belief that you are the expert on yourself, I take a less directive approach that centers your voice. I work from various therapy modalities, including: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also draw from Social Constructivism theory (the belief that there are a multitude of truths, and a singular truth is incomplete).

Clients who find most success working with me are interested in exploring work that centers around childhood hurt and trauma(s), would like to work on relational dynamics within their systems (familial, social, and political), and find themselves curious about the ways various parts of themselves show up in the world.
