“Our ability to connect with others is innate, wired into our nervous system, and we need connection as much as we need physical nourishment." - Sharon Salzberg

Many of our wounds may have been formed in the absence of a witness or lack of connection. You may be struggling with an eating disorder, body image concerns, low self-worth, anxiety, or relationship challenges. Often, these wounds are formed in the absence of validation and support, or a lack of connection. Because wounds are often started in relationships, it makes sense for healing to happen in a relational way.

I believe in the transformational and impactful work that happens within relationships both in and outside of the therapy space. We as humans have a deep yearning to connect with others. What transforms from the relationship in therapy can help you to move towards your most authentic self and back towards connection in other parts of your life.

Building upon what you already know is essential to me because while we will cultivate resources together, you hold significant knowledge and body wisdom waiting to be uncovered. Therapy is a space where we get to challenge what you’re facing, celebrate your unique self, and acknowledge what it means to walk in the humanness of your existence.

My approach to therapy

I work individually with adolescents (13+) and adults, both in-person and virtually. My approach to body based healing through nurturing the relationship with ourselves has continued to grow with my own clinical experiences. I have witnessed the ways in which profound growth happens when we grasp what it means to value ourselves and our bodies as a container for healing. My work is largely shaped with a foundational background in anti-diet frameworks and a Health at Every Size (HAES) lens. I utilize a strengths-based approach while pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I incorporate mindfulness, polyvagal, and narrative therapy modalities. Clients who enjoy humor, quirkiness, the occasional song lyrics or dance party, authenticity, and a willingness to sit with hard questions will be most suited to work with me.
