raiya al-ansari, LICSWA (she/her)

“To the heart in you, don’t be afraid to feel. To the sun in you, don’t be afraid to shine. To the love in you, don’t be afraid to heal. To the ocean in you, don’t be afraid to rage. To the silence in you, don’t be afraid to break.” - Najwa Zebian

Taking that first step into therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’re unsure of where to start or how much of your story to share. It’s natural to not have these answers, and in this space, you don’t have to figure it out alone or hold anything back. Here, every part of you is welcome - the strong, the scared, the playful, the sad, and everything in between. Maybe some of those parts feel louder than others right now and it’s making everyday life more difficult to manage. You might be navigating constant worry and racing thoughts, feeling pressured to meet high standards for yourself, struggling to focus and stay motivated, or finding it hard to stay connected in relationships.

Whatever hardships you're facing, therapy can be a place of support to help you find your way through. Together, we’ll take time to explore the many layers of who you are and what you’ve experienced to help you understand yourself more deeply and move through your challenges with clarity and confidence. Throughout this journey, I’ll be there to support and guide you in rediscovering your strengths, developing skills to manage difficult situations, and building the courage to live a life where you aren’t afraid to be an authentic you.

My approach to therapy

I offer individual therapy for adults, both in-person and virtually. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your specific needs. I often draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), drama therapy and other expressive arts, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and solution-focused therapy. In our sessions, we might focus on finding practical solutions for everyday challenges, while at other times, we may lean into deeper reflections around your identity or relationships. No matter which direction we take, I’ll be there every step of the way with compassion, curiosity, flexibility, and a touch of humor, making sure our work together always stays approachable and meaningful for you.
